Taizé invites everyone to pray for Haiti on the 12th of each month

Echoing a suggestion made by a Haitian youth, the Taizé Community invites everyone who is able to pray for the people of Haiti, either singly or in groups, on the 12th of each month for 12 months, following the earthquake that took place on January 12.

The young man was a volunteer in Taizé in the summer of 2006. He writes:
“I can’t tell the difference between life and death since Tuesday, January 12, when the country was plunged into deep distress. But God is great and since he is love, his plan of love is already prepared for us.
The songs of Taizé give me strength and confidence I would never have imagined.
Ask all the peoples throughout the world to pray for 12 months on the 12th day of each month for the Haitian people. Do not hesitate! It is very important.”
